Eastern Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center

The Eastern Washington PTAC provides support to regional businesses in marketing and selling to federal, state and local government agencies and prime contractors. The center also assists agencies, departments and primes in their efforts to comply with federal and state procurement diversity goals. E-mail: PTAC@greaterspokane.org.

Education and Training Grants

Both federal and state programs are available to help in recruitment and training of new workers.

Fiber Project

The Pend Oreille County PUD owns and operates approximately 125 miles of Fiber Optic Backbone, stretching from Spokane to near the Canadian border. In addition, the PUD is building over 500 miles of fiber to the premise through a $34 million Stimulus Grant. The formation of the Community Network System is the district’s successful strategy to bridge the Digital Divide for our communities.

HUB Zone

Pend Oreille County is a designated Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone, which allows small businesses to procure government contracts.

Kalispel Career Training Center

The Kalispel Career Training Center is dedicated to workforce development and generates opportunity for new commerce in our community. KCTC will design programs to assist existing businesses by training personnel in the tasks specific to each business endeavor and will prepare a workforce for new businesses entering the local community.

Small Business Development Center & Center for Business and Industry Services (SBDC)

The SBDC offers one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance. We provide management assistance to current and prospective small business owners. Assistance from an SBDC is available to anyone interested in beginning a small business for the first time or improving or expanding an existing small business, at no charge.
